I cannot believe you have done this. You deftly swooped and snatched 'The House of Elliot' away from under our noses!! I am so upset to say the least!!
I work all week and looked forward to relaxing and chilling to one of the best period dramas!!

At this point I must add WHY advertise it still on your webpage? Whats the point? You are not showing it!!

To just take it off with no warning is not acceptable!!

Please bring it back so we can at least see the ending..

It's a complete and utter shambles! So dissapionted turned on the tv today and house of Eliot wasn't listed instead they're playing a loop of second rate tv programmes, I mean come on 3 or 4 hours of roadshow, I think we'd all prefer a bit of house of Eliot!
Put it back on crazy fools. Angry

We do seem still to be communicating our displeasure to each other without any response from those who, supposedly have the power.
Have I missed something or is there still no reaction by the Yesterday management, I use the term loosely, to our concerns.
It would be reasonable to expect that we be informed if there is an intention to do anything to respond.
Reasonable answers could be:
"No we have made our mind(s) there will be no resumption of the series."
"Yes, we understand your concerns we are considering our future programming and will shortly advise you of our intentions."
"We couldn't give a Blurgh about your preferences we will go our own sweet way."

Silence is both impolite and exhibits a lack of concern which bodes ill for the future.
Where are our interlocutors?

I too cannot believe that we will not be seeing the third series of house of eliott - just leaves one up in the air after getting into this series. Have loved it - my sundays will not be the same without it!

Yesterday you must put this back on!!

i have just registered on this site as I am disgusted at Yesterdays decision not to show further episodes of house of eliott. My daughter who is 17 and had not seen this programme has been really enjoying the series, so it does not just appeal to older viewers. I cannot believe it is considered better to show episodes of sharpe and catherine cookson which have been repeated only recently on numerous occasions! Not only that but now Poldark has also been pulled! Really bad planning! Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Confused

I can not believe that Yesterday are NOT going to show the third series of the fabulous House of Eliott- what a foolish, inexplicable decision ! Not sure I'll be tuning into many of its programmes just in case they decide to do the same with them . Angry Confused

I too feel that you should show the complete series-a really excellent story line -first class in every way.

I agree completely with the statements above. I have had to order series 3 because of Yesterday's poor judgement. They've continued showing Antiques Roadshow repeats on Sunday afternoon, so why not the far superior House of Elliott?

There's lot's of dissatisfaction regarding the dropping of The House Of Elliot.

Visit the FaceBook 'The House Of Elliot Appreciation Group' and make your feelings known.

There is also the opportunity to say what other historical drama's you would like to see repeated on 'Yesterday' as well.

Get there by clicking twice on this link.

Please join this free group to show your support of The House Of Elliot and other quality historical drama and invite others to join. The more of us there are the more interest programmers at Yesterday will have to take in our views.

Thanks

This is really bad planning from your scheduling perspective, how can you cancel the showing of a popular series only a few episodes into the season, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this, both the 1st season and this one. I watched this when it was originally tx'd and was thrilled to see it on your channel and was looking forward to the conclusion when Evie gets married, it is really sad that this decision was taken as this was the only reason I watched your channel as no other programming is of interest to me. Yes I totally agree with all the other posters. It was lovely to come across this wonderful, quality series being repeated (I fortunately found it by chance as it hadn't been promoted either in the tv guides or on the old UK TV History website) and now that Yesterday is no longer showing the third series they are promoting it on the the new website which seems rather odd. It is like pulling the Cup Final at half time - programme schedulers what are you thinking??? - I will be turning off now sorry as Sharpe/Catherine Cookson do not appeal. Please, please could you show the final 10 episodes of the House of Eliott?

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the series again - it has stood the test of time and hasn't dated at all. I have recorded this rerun religiously from episode 1 and watched it in the weekday evenings as there is little else on at the moment - the House of Elliot has been an asolute pleasure to watch - 3 hrs just flys by!

I cannot believe that the programme has now been taken off air - I hadn't realised that it wasn't on next week and now feel totally in limbo. This seems so short-sighted of the TV company especially as they ran series 2 straight after series 1 without a break. Please bring it back very soon Angry

Is any body from the past programming management present in this discussion or have all our concerns about yesterday faded away. Mad

Just for fun guys, I've started a House of Elliot Appreciation group on Facebook.

It'll be interesting to see how many join or leave messages. I hope you'll do if you want to see Episode 3. Lets see if we can get 10,000 members.

I'm sure Yesterday will be interested and respond positively to such interest.

I've just seen what the programmers for 'Yesterday' have for us as a replacement for House of Elliot. Sunday afternoons are a patronizing patchwork of Sharp, Antiques Roadshow and Catherine Cookson. I don't think I've ever seen such a cheesy dumbing down of programming since Channel 4 started Big Brother.

Somehow in their wisdom they think they can keep the 'ladies' happy with an afternoon visiting the land where all the working classes know their place except the one with vision and ambition which makes her, her own worse enemy. Considering Mother's Day is coming up I suppose we can expect All Creatures Great and Small to accompany the chocolates they think we'll all be eating as we do our embroidery or flower arranging!

Yesterday, you have not pitched your programming appropriately. Listen to your audience. This is not inclusive programming. This is insulting and irritating programming.

Give us back out 3 hour of House of Elliot and when that has finished follow with similarly intelligent viewing or watch your viewers desert.

Angry Are there any tv execs reading these posts? WE WANT THE HOUSE OF ELLIOT BACK ON THE AIR!!!!! It's disgraceful that you stop airing it in the middle of the series.

Wed 4 Mar 2009, 4.37PM

Annia9348

I totally agree with all the other posts. Why pull House of Elliot? A couple of years ago UKTV History was just about exclusively about history pertaining to men. Lots of wars and battles, very blokish. Your programmers worked hard widening your audience base, bringing in factual based, well researched historical drama. House of Elliot is a good example of this trend, albeit a late addition. It looks as if 'Yesterday' has chosen to return to a more limited take on what constitutes 'history', more fool you. The generous 3 hour slot you gave it was a treat, allowing us to follow complete period story-lines. Please show Series 3 in the same format ASAP. It would also help if you provided a week at a view channel program listings to make it easier to follow series and organize viewing or recording.

Altogether this is a bit of a poor show for a new start. Have you ever heard of a term, if it ain't broke, don't fix it? Yesterday hasn't added any new tools, facilities or programs, just removed what was valued.

I am also in agreement with others. How can you pull it when we haven't seen series 3 yet. It was bad enough when it was originally shown when the makers decided not to make series 4 and we were left with so much that was left 'untidy'.

YESTERDAY - Please listen to your audience and put it back for the last series!
