The Naked Archaeologist

I can't believe theres another series of this absolute tosh. Last night he actually broke in to a locked archaeological site because the REAL archaeologists wisely refused to talk to him. I was also interested to see that the less than complimentary comments made previously on this board by myself and others have been deleted. Hmmmm, so much for discussion.

There are plenty of interesting, well researched real archaeological projects out there, why not show them?

Hmmm, I found his scholarship very questionable. I do agree that some archaeologists have been guilty of seeing religion or ritual in everything, particularly prehistoric stuff, although I think most would agree that Stonehenge definitely has ritual significance (not druids!).

I completely agree. This is not archaeology!! As many serious archaeologists struggle for funding and recognition I find this programme offensive and misleading in the extreme. Whilst religious mythology can be useful in disentangling the past, it certainly cannot be used in the oversimplistic like way it is in this programme.
