please don't put the idea of sport into their mind, It's bad enough with the dramas.........

gives me a cold shudder just thinking about it

like the Monty Python Sketch

"And for those who Don't Like sport - There's Sport"

still as true today as it was then.

The Naked Archaeologist

is uk history now the drama channel

has anyone noticed the description of UKTV History on Google
"The official website for the UK's leading specialist factual channel, UKTV History."

Am I watching the wrong channel here ?

Tat2Dan...as to programs...there are so many documentaries of an adult level it is hard to know where to start

I'd start with Meet the Ancestors - Julian Richards presents ARCHAEOLOGY...not this "Naked Archaeologist Drivel) the complete run- even when it changed to "Ancestors". (please Please Please Please)
Then

Journeys to the Bottom of the Sea (series) :

Secrets of the Dead (series) :

Michael Wood's In Search of Series - there are plenty to chose from.

There are loads of "Equinox", "Timewatch" and "Horizon" episodes which concentrate on History/Archaeology :

The Trench Detectives :

Wings of the Luftwaffe :

War Walks :

Battlefield Detectives :

Two Men in a Trench

Unfortunately we will probably end up with that puerile "what the [insert timeframe here] did for us...ye gods I hate this rubbish.

anyway Cheers for now

Totally agree, This should be about History, which to me suggests documentaries and education.

Instead I find Antiques Roadshow....Poldark...House of Elliot.....Reilly Ace of Spies..with an occasional titbit thrown in.

this is not History, Not Education and not of interest
