Robert Kennedy Who was he? Former U.S. Attorney-General who was at the time of his death campaigning to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. When was he assassinated? June 5, 1968. Where was he assassinated? The Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles. Who did it? Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian immigrant. Why? Sirhan was opposed to Kennedy's pro-Israeli stance. But was he acting alone? Kennedy had many enemies, including the Mafia and ultra-conservative members of America's political establishment. What happened?
