Who was he? Former U.S. Attorney-General who was at the time of his death campaigning to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

When was he assassinated? June 5, 1968.

Where was he assassinated? The Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles.

Who did it? Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian immigrant.

Why? Sirhan was opposed to Kennedy's pro-Israeli stance. But was he acting alone? Kennedy had many enemies, including the Mafia and ultra-conservative members of America's political establishment.

What happened? Kennedy was walking along a service corridor after addressing a rally when several shots were fired, apparently by Sirhan.

What was the consequence? Many of Kennedy's followers believe his death deprived the United States of a leader who could have steered the country in a more liberal direction.
