Primeval V features more stunning special effects, adventure and incredible creatures, as the team at the ARC have their work cut out for them to police ruptured time anomalies, and the growing threat of entrepreneur Philip Burton, whose grip on the ARC is tightening with every episode.

Primeval co-creator, Adrian Hodges says: I think what's exciting about Primeval V is that we get a lot of big revelations about Matt Anderson and why he joined the team and what his real ambitions are. We also learn more about Philip Burton and what his possible role is in how the team is going to operate in the future.

Primeval V is bigger than series four; the stakes are higher and the stories are even more focused on the individuals in the team. There's a crisis for everyone and the team faces the biggest challenge its ever had.

The effects in this series are also the best we've ever seen. some of the sets are just plain awesome — one of our episodes is set entirely in a submarine, which we built on dry land over in Ireland, and you'll see some huge sea creatures. We've got some big surprises too — characters that you thought were gone might be coming back, and the climax of the series includes the biggest two episodes we've ever done. The whole future of the planet and the human race is at stake!
