Torchwood
Saturdays at 9pm
Russell T Davies' alien-fighting, time-travelling, Doctor Who spin-offing Torchwood returns to Watch this month for series two.
Starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness – charged with investigating extraterrestrial incidents on Earth and scavenging alien technology for his own use – Torchwood carries on the frentic pace set in series one.
The second series starts when Captain Jack – missing, presumed dead – returns to Torchwood HQ. Soon the team is reunited to fight a rogue Time Agent, Captain John Hart (Buffy The Vampire Slayer's James Marsters). It's clear that the two Captains have history together, but what the team don't realise is that Hart is as ruthless and as evil as they come.
The series continues with more intriguing and other worldly storylines – Toshiko falls for a handsome soldier trapped out of his time, Doctor Who's Martha Jones is called in to help solve some mysterious deaths, and Gwen's unsuspecting husband learns the truth about her involvement in Torchwood. It's also the end of the line for two of the team.
