Animal Park

Animal Park

Weekdays at 5pm and 8am

Longleat is a historic stately home situated in Wiltshire, the family seat of the eccentric yet charismatic Lord Marquess of Bath. Covering 900 acres, the estate has its own safari park and in Animal Park, presenters Ben Fogle and Kate Humble take you behind the scenes and into the life of keepers and animals that work and live there.

The show was first broadcast in 2000 and there has been a series made every year. During this time Animal Park has introduced us to a host of animals who live there, such as Trevor the ostrich, Kabir the lion, Jolly the giraffe, Nico the gorilla and the late Babs the Rhino.

Across its history Animal Park has seen some pretty monumental events when it comes to helping endangered species. These have included the relocation of the park's herd of elephants to France, countless animal births and the introduction of three new South African white rhinos to establish a herd able to breed.

Other stories that have featured in Animal Park include Lord Bath's exploits parachuting with the Red Devils, and the costly task of the conservation and running of the great house itself.
