As the Earth is plunged into a bloody war the Doctor is forced to take drastic action. Will Rose lose her friend forever? Rose hasn't been vapourised, but teleported to the Dalek mothership. The Doctor travels with Captain Jack to the Dalek ship to save Rose. The Dalek Emperor tells them of its masterplan and the Earth invasion. They escape and back on Satellite 5, the Doctor begins re-wiring the station as part of his plan to destroy the Daleks. But he knows it's in vain, and he tricks Rose into the Tardis and sends her home. She gets Mickey and her mum to help her pull open the Tardis console, exposing her to its time vortex energies. Rose goes forward in time & vapourises the Daleks and their ships. The Doctor kisses Rose and draws out the energy into himself. However, his body is devastated by the energies and he says goodbye, regenerating into his tenth incarnation! It's all as simple as that. (The Parting Of The Ways, 2005)
