Face value

Face value

From a mix more than one thousand Glamour readers, 90 per cent said they valued a younger looking face over a younger looking body. Frown lines and crow’s feet came top of readers’ anti-aging anxieties and considered these to be their first visible signs of aging. And while almost 40 per cent of readers started using anti-aging products between the ages of 19 and 24, many of them still thought they looked older than their age. In a bid to correct this more than half use targeted wrinkle creams and a third plan to have botox.

When asked which is worse, being referred to as old or fat, a whooping 67% opted for fat. This could help explain why a quarter of these readers are currently saving up for liposuction. Covering up isn't a viable alternative for a third, who don't think there's an age cut off for women wearing mini-skirts, bare legs, bikinis, and plunging neck lines. In their pursuit of achieving a youthful body, readers also rated tummy tucks, knee lifts, and 6% would consider vaginal tightening.
