Hanging a bathroom cabinet video

You will need:
-
Cabinet
Wall plugs (for masonry)
Plasterboard fixing
Level
Screws
Pencil
Cut wedges
Hammer
Cordless screwdriver
Cabinets are the perfect stylish answer to storing your most embarrassing bathroom products.
If you guard your beauty secrets especially carefully, you can even get a cabinet with a lock. (Also useful if you have curious kids!) When hanging your cabinet it's essential not to underestimate how much weight it will carry. Even a tiny cabinet will pull forcefully on its fixings. If you don't hang it properly the cabinet will fall off of the wall before you can say 'Smashed bottle of Coco Mademoiselle'. So make sure you hammer in a sturdy set of fixings and then the rest of the job can be finished in the whirr of a screwdriver drill.
Time to complete the job: 1 hour
-

Step 1: Plan ahead
Place the cabinet against the wall where you want it to hang.
Put the level on top and level the cabinet.
Open the door and drill through the pre-made hanging holes into the wall.
Tip: Before drilling always make sure there are no pipes or electrical fixings behind the wall by using a mini metal detector. -

Step 2: Hang the cabinet
Push fixings into each of the holes.
Use a hammer to hammer them flush with the wall.
Put the cabinet back into place and affix the screws.
Tip: There are different fixings for plaster, wood and masonry. Make sure you use the ones that match your wall type. -

Step 3: Level the cabinet
If your wall has character (ie. it slopes in or out) you may have to level your cabinet back to front. To do this, loosen the screws at either the top or bottom of the cabinet, depending which way your wall leans.
Place the cut wedges behind the cabinet until it is vertical.
Tighten the screws.
Remove the wedges, and your cabinet should hang straight.
