Make Your Own Polka-dot Glassware
Give old glasses a lift with glass etching cream. It couldn't be easier, so don't feel you have to stop at matching tumblers and jug. Etch a vase, a tray, wineglasses... And if polka dots aren't to your taste, then choose any other stencil style.
Time to complete the job: 1 hour.
Approximate budget: Glass etching cream from £6 for 3oz.
You will need:
- Tumblers
- Glass jug
- Stencil
- Glass etching cream
- Small paintbrush
- Masking tape
Tip: Glass etching cream is toxic, so always wear a long-sleeved shirt and rubber gloves when working with it. Splash-proof glasses and a mask are also useful.
Choose your glassware
Buy a cheap set of plain tumblers and a tall vase at your local kitchenware shop or pound shop - the plainer the better for this project. Or use any or glassware you have around the house. Why not mix and match? In UKTV Homes
