David Dickinson - Our Valuation
With an expertise rivalled only by his sharp wit and down-to-earth personality, David Dickinson is the much-loved, much-respected presenter of Bargain Hunt, and a man who's broken the mould in more ways than one. Now, get to know him and his foibles a little better with David Dickinson: our step-by-step valuation.
A classic work: Descended from Franco-Armenian stock, and just about sixty years old.
Fully-working Manchester acoustics: Tends to say things, like, 'cheap as chips' and 'a real bobby dazzler'.
Part of a pair: Better half is his wife of thirty years, Lorne Lesley, international cabaret singer.
Attention to detail is unsurpassed: Just take a close look at those immaculate bespoke suits, cufflinks and brogues. Not a scuff in sight.
Loves a Diva: David cites Mariah Carey and Celine Dion as two of his favourite ballad warblers.
Plenty of sentimental value: David's most treasured possession is a mini replica of the Liberty bell, originally thought to be cast from the original, but now treasured solely as a reminder of his grandmother.
Replica or original?: David has been plagued with accusations that he's a dead ringer for Lovejoy, ever since his TV debut. We don't think so, though, after all, he is literally the real deal.
Time is valuable: David won't be seen without his Jaeger Le Coulter perpetual calendar watch, worth a rather flamboyant £15,000.
Started to accrue value in the mid-70s...: David opened his first antiques shop in Cheshire, and has since become a leading force in the competitive world of antique dealing. With Bargain Hunt the new gem on primetime TV - and with David himself counted as a bona fide celebrity of impeccable charm and taste - who knows where the great dealer's illustrious career will end up. One thing's for sure, this is one antique that won't be lying dusty and unappreciated in the attic until the day dot.

by an artist by the name of John Taylor.he was a local artist who painted and exhibited in wales (I believe the Airport hotel)sadly he died I believe in the 60's,My husband was told that this painting that I have was the last one his wife owned and was sadly selling it,I believe she was going into an OAP's home.
