Designer Profile: Mark Humphrey

He studied Architectural Interior & Product Design at Middlesex University in the late Eighties and, after graduating, worked with Nicky Haslam before establishing his own company in 1994. Initially, solely a design company, he has since expanded to include furniture, kitchens and accessories.

Renowned for his clever use of space, he prides himself on only working with the highest-quality materials (sourced from sustainable forests) and the most skilled craftsmen available, often using the latest technical methods.

In addition to his own range of products, he has also designed ranges for Fendi Casa, CP Hart, The Rug Company and LVMH (Moët, Hennessy, Louis Vuitton). His products have won him many awards, including Best Contemporary Furniture of the Year at the Design & Decoration Awards, 2004; Best New Residential Design in the World, for his work on the Duke of Westminster's high-rise development in Hong Kong and Most Innovative Product of the Year at 2004's Decorex for his K003 kitchen.

'My philosophy is art+design=space³,' says Mark. 'I firmly believe design should be both glamorous and functional.'
