A bag makes an outfit, so they're well worth investing in. But what should be your arm candy this season?
Well, the oversized handbag is still key - you could fit everything plus the kitchen sink in some of the styles seen on the catwalk.
High gloss finishes, like the giant shiny black shopper at D&G, and croc/snakeskin effects, like the to-die-for multi-pocketed handbag at Burberry, are big this autumn.
Also, why keep your clutches for after-dark? This evening-wear staple is now a daywear option too. Armani's snakeskin version, with its huge stone embellishment, would bring a suit to life. And who hasn't lusted after a classic Chanel clutch to live out their dreams of being a Lady Who Lunches?
As autumn is all about the waist, make sure you buy at least one wide belt to nip yours in. As for jewellery, add sparkle where you can. Chunky perspex beads, studded cuffs, navel sweeping chains (preferably layered) and giant jewel necklaces will add the finishing touches to any look.
