Dr Tanya and her team have created a unique environment which the children, aged one to eight, and their parents move into for up to a month at a time. She aims to get to the root cause of their problems and to work on long-term solutions.

We begin with Alyson and Richard, who are at their wits end with daughter Lucie. Lucie is very demanding and treats her mum like a servant. When Alyson's around Lucie won't let her dad do anything for her. She's never slept in her own bed and when she gets really worked up she bites and slaps to make her point.
