Spa Of Embarrassing Illnesses: Episode Guide

It's estimated that 75% of people in the UK suffer from an embarrassing illness such as IBS, excessive sweating, bloating, obesity, psoriasis and piles. But the majority 'suffer in silence' and because they feel modern medicine is failing them. At the Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses world experts in alternative therapies take on an extreme challenge: in two weeks can they cure eight 'patients' with some of Britain's most embarrassing illnesses?

Episode 1
Eight patients with embarrassing illnesses arrive at a health spa in Andalusia where global experts in alternative therapy size them up physically and emotionally. The group includes an attractive 24-year-old with debilitating irritable bowel syndrome, a mother of two with severe psoriasis, a down-to-earth Yorkshire couple with fertility problems and a 25-year-old lass from Middlesborough whose life is being ruined by extreme perspiration.

Episode 2
For eight sufferers of embarrassing illnesses, life at an alternative therapy spa in Spain has gone all fresh, raw and organic - and that's emotions as well as food. Just the thought of doing an enema sends 41-year-old compulsive overeater Melissa into a tail-spin while acupuncture treatments pinpoint emotional blocks in terms of Jodine's excessive sweating and Amie's IBS.

Episode 3
Today it's adios to solid food and buenos dias to seven days of juice and broth as eight Brits with embarrassing illnesses go down the total system detoxification path at the spa. A mid-morning coffee is only permitted to be taken anally and those willing to let cameras behind enema lines include larger-than-life Yorkshire lad Damian, IBS sufferer Amie and eventually even fearful compulsive overeater Melissa.

Episode 4
They may have embarrassing illnesses but having embraced the enema, eight Brits now have no embarrassment about the old taboo of bodily function as they get to grips with detoxifying their bodies in the search for cures. Psoriasis sufferer Tracy and IBS suffer Amie get competitive over colon output and compulsive overeater Melissa's shiatsu session gets her going in more ways than one.

Episode 5
The Spanish location might be idyllic but for eight Brits on a quest for rude health as opposed to embarrassing illnesses, the reality of seven days without solid food is starting to fray nerves. Plus 33-year-old Dan's eczema flares up horribly and Charlotte and Damian are sceptical that diet alone can cure their infertility.
