A Life Coach Less Ordinary: New Goals

Thirty-three-year-old Trae, is single and lives alone. She feels she needs new goals in her life and is hoping the Speakmans can help her achieve her potential.

First impressions of Trae would have you believe she is a confident, fun woman. However, when her guard drops, you realise she is vulnerable and reserved.

She admits her extrovert personality is a self-protective façade. When she was eight she was abused by a great uncle who lived two doors down. Whilst her father confronted the abuser there were no consequences. She feels she deserved retribution and in some way she feels responsible for the abuse.

Trae has been addicted to heroin and diagnosed as being a manic depressive during that time. After realising her friends had begun stealing from each other Trae managed to remove herself from the scene and gave up drugs. She then decided to move as far away as possible and start art school. Trae had a breakdown shortly after, aged just 27.

Since then she has been making steps to rebuild her life. She now works very successfully as a facilitator, running courses using art as therapy for the mentally and physically handicapped, but it's erratic, freelance work and poorly paid. It's this that she wants to change. She wants stability and is looking for a 'sustainable career'. She has the energy and enthusiasm to make this work and the Speakmans are on hand to help her set those goals.
