OCD - Cleaning
How clean is your house? I bet it's not as clean as Linda Lords'! Every day, the 50-year-old telephonist spends at least two-and-a-half hours cleaning her house. Cleaning dominates Linda's life!
She spends her mornings cleaning; covering exactly the areas she cleaned the day before. In the afternoon she works four hours as a telephonist, one hour of which she admits to spending tidying and cleaning the switchboard area. She takes in her own spray cleaner to do this. She knows it's an irrational obsession and would love to be rid of it because it consumes all her time.
She thought of quitting work all together to give herself more time but her partner of 19 years, David, says she'll only fill it up with more cleaning. Linda would love to be able to put her need to clean to one side so she could have time to take the dogs for a walk on the moors or go for a bike ride.
Currently, her only escape is to go caravanning. Although she cleans the caravan every day on holiday it's a lot smaller than the house. David, who valets cars for a living, cleans the outside! Can the Speakmans get Linda to see there is more to life than just cleaning? Tune in to find out.
