Baby Squad: Episode Guide

From tantrums to sleepless nights, our brand new parent empowering series, exclusive to UKTV Style, is ready to restore harmony and happiness to your homes. Find out what parenting dilemmas are featured throughout the series and discover the top tips and advice given by our Baby Squad experts.

Episode 1 - The Kennedy Family
15-month-old toddler Ben hasn't slept for more than two hours since birth. He still sleeps in parents Trish and Pat's bed most nights and will only nod off after a breast feed which Trish wants to stop. Baby Squad expert Dawn Kelly has some practical advice:

· Lose the night time feed - and give Ben water from a beaker instead in case he gets thirsty at night.
· Use the pick-up, put-down routine. Ben sleeps in his own bed and mum or dad are advised to go in when he cries, pick him up briefly for reassurance and then put him back down to sleep immediately. It can take 40 goes or more a night at first but it works eventually.
· Restore a routine afternoon nap.

Episode 2 - The Dreckman Family
Young Nathan is in a constant battle for attention with his siblings - and mum Sally is finding it hard to cope. Baby Squad expert Sue Gill has some clear views on what could be done to help.

· Involve all the children, including baby, in family playtime - to avoid sibling rivalry.
· Praise and reward good behaviour and ignore the bad.
· When behaviour becomes aggressive and unacceptable, use time-out - one minute for each year. Put the child in a regular spot explaining why they are there and then turn your back on them and ignore until the time is up.

Episode 3 - The Charles Family
Tyreeq is a three-year-old toddler fixated by white bread and chocolate and it's making his mum Debby desperate at mealtimes. Baby Squad expert Jo Bish thinks Tyreeq sees this routine of rejecting food as a game to get his mum's attention. Her top three tips are:

· Eat together as a family.
· Ignore food fussiness.
· Use a star chart to try new foods and turn it into something positive and fun.
