Painting Radiators
If your radiator is a bit of an eyesore why not paint it to match your furniture or walls? Donna reveals how...
Hi Donna,
My living room radiator is very ugly. Can you tell me how to cover it up without spending money on an expensive ready-made radiator cover?

Hi Dibby,
There really is no cheap way to make a radiator cover. Of course if you're handy with a saw then you can make your own, but instead of worrying about costly revamps, get your paintbrush at the ready and invest in International's Radiator Clearcoat. It gives you ultimate colour choice by letting you match your radiators perfectly to your walls.
Just paint your radiators with your choice of emulsion colour, then overcoat with Radiator Clearcoat in either Gloss, Satin or Matt. A coat of paint will make the world of difference to your ugly radiators.
First make sure your emulsion is left to dry fully for about three days before applying Clearcoat. Make sure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt and grease, and never paint on a warm radiator. They should be cold before putting paintbrush to metal.
Apply one to two coats using a synthetic brush or roller suitable for emulsion paint. Leave the first coat to dry for four hours before applying the second coat. Alternatively, International also has a product called Radiator Enamel Aerosol - an easy to apply, quick drying spray paint that comes in white or cream in gloss, satin or matt finishes; and also in chrome or stainless steel finishes for a sharp, contemporary look.
