Lulu is acutely aware of her image, even after 40 years of success in the music business.

"I still feel the pressure to look good on TV and on stage," she says. "What am I going to say, oh I can’t get into that but I don’t care?"

Music is the key
"It’s all about balance. I don’t cut things out completely. There's no way I’m going to give up chocolate – I’m from Glasgow. We’re sugar mad!"

Lulu maintains that her music is the key to her health and well-being.

"Music does everything for me - it’s the greatest healer in the world." She says. "I’m never happier than when I’m on stage – I get to relax and express myself."

"I’m so lucky – I’ve just recorded a new album and toured with Elton John. Music is what I do and it’s why I’m still going after 40-odd years."
