As for wearing heels, I personally think there is nothing prettier or more comfortable than a pair of beaded flip flops. If I were you, I’d buy a couple of pairs of these to match my new key pieces. If you shop around, it’s possible to buy them incredibly cheaply. I bought a sweet pair of grey suede ones with sequinned straps for £4.50 the other day! If you must have heels, then the wedge seems to be the heel of the moment, but take care with these. Some of them are very high and in my opinion, are not particularly flattering!

For autumn, I suggest you invest in a pair of mid-height heeled boots which you will be able to wear with skirts, trousers or jeans. Clothes-wise, if you’re a working woman, there’s not much to beat a pair of well-cut black trousers. Try and find a pair with added lycra – so that they fit the body well, but won’t ‘seat’ or crease too much. Add a sexy wrap-over dress for special occasions and top it all off with a suede or leather jacket. If you like a bargain, Mango are currently selling suede and leather jackets at half price.
