These days we seem to spend half our lives on the road. But if you feel that your driving skills aren't all they could be, or that you would like to have a lot more fun while you're out and about behind the wheel, then perhaps you should take a look at one of the many driving courses now available.

Dream of owning a Ferrari, but all you can afford is a Fiat? It doesn't matter. You can still get that superb sports car experience with one of the large number of specialist driving courses that will let you loose in a whole range of unaffordable, and unforgettable, classic cars.
In Leicestershire, for example, you can spend a day at a racing circuit and indulge your fantasies by driving a pair of the grooviest Porsche designs - the 996 and the Boxer. A typical itinerary includes a briefing on the circuit, followed by loads of mouth-watering laps in the two Porsche. You'll also get a high speed passenger ride with a professional driver, plus you'll get the option of karting or going for an auto-test session. The day is rounded off with an individual driving assessment from your instructor, plus all the usual photos and certificates.
If that doesn't appeal, elsewhere you can take Ferrari, Lotus and even Mini Coopers for a spin on racing circuits. Alternatively, how about putting your faithful old family runabout through its paces on a race circuit?
The Driver Skills unique driving experience offers you an opportunity to test your own car to its limits, in a safe environment and away from speed cameras and police. You also get the chance to learn high performance driving techniques that could help you to be a safer driver.
The 1.6 mile track has large run-off areas and all sessions are watched by the experienced eye of a fully-qualified instructor, so you can just enjoy the thrill. The full day incorporates six track sessions - with plenty of opportunities to push your car and your skills to their limits. There could be one problem after this: the school run will never seem the same again!
