Learning a new skill in a large group can be intimidating, so here's an idea: get a better grasp of photography on a relaxed all-women walking holiday organised by a professional photographer. Terry has over twenty years' experience and specialises in landscape photography. He runs courses throughout the year, and if you want a taster you might like to combine a day's workshop on landscape, black and white, digital or macro photography with a holiday in this beautiful area of Britain.

Alternatively, if you fancy mastering travel photography in more exotic locations, ex-newspaper photographer Philip Dunn runs week-long courses that take you to the stunning Mediterranean island of Menorca. Dunn limits groups to ten people and during the week he helps you explore the island, teaching you to think about what you want from your pictures. By the end of the week you will have the confidence to produce a set of travel photographs that really captures the atmosphere and feeling of place. Plus you will have a tan to be proud of!
