But hey Tom, don't be glum! Here's the Extreme Makeover Home Edition team! As the stretch-limo whisks the McCrorys away to a dream holiday in Arizona the team put their perfectly coiffed heads together and come up with a plan. New faces in this week's episode include Paige, the impossibly curvaceous carpenter, and Ally, the cocksure young planner, dressed like a banker in shiny shoes and smart jacket.

The team decide to increase living space by fifty percent with the addition of two bedrooms and a nursery. As demolition commences Ally, miffed that his shoes are dusty, declares to the team that he 'plans, not builds', spoken like the teamplayer he clearly isn't. Don't miss the ensuing Michael v Ally showdown which comes so close to genuine blows that Ty has to intervene.

Meanwhile, in between the fighting, progress is surprisingly swift. Rory's bedroom takes on a pirate theme with a huge treasure map covering one wall. Paige gets jiggy with a jigsaw and creates a jungle bedroom full of animals for Connor, including a frog bed. Gran's garage is now an adult-only recluse with bar and pool table and the back garden transforms into nipper paradise with the installation of a playground. Unsure whether Michael should deck out the nursery in pink or blue, Ty takes decisive action with a visit to the hospital's consultant.

The McCrorys return to their new modern, baby-friendly home with its two washers, two dryers, home surveillance monitor and year's supply of baby equipment. Impressive stuff. But the magical moment is finding out the colour of the new nursery. Blue for boys or pink for girls? Tune in to find out!
