Meet Carol Smillie
One of the most popular presenters on the box. She's the feisty Scot who restores calm among the Changing Rooms teams, while whipping up a pair of tab-tops with matching tiebacks.
Born in Glasgow in 1961, Carol Smillie studied Fashion Design at Glasgow School of Art. She left to take up a career in modelling and landed the role of glamorous hostess alongside Nicky Campbell on Wheel Of Fortune. Bitten by the travel bug, Smillie's next two assignments were The Travel Show and Holiday, where the lucky lass enjoyed some of the world's most idyllic locations.
In 1996 Carol began presenting Changing Rooms and has a whopping 12 series under her belt. Hosting Channel 5's Dream Holiday Homes and BBC's Star Secrets and Holiday Swaps keeps her schedule busier than that of most royals. But with canny juggling she always finds time for her passions in life - her husband, three children and dog. An inspiration to working mums everywhere, Carol even found time to release her pregnancy exercise video 'Changing Shape With Carol Smillie'.
Among Carol's honours and awards are a National TV Award, INDIE award and BAFTA nomination for Changing Rooms as well as the dubious honour of Rear of the Year 1998! She was also presented with the red book on This Is Your Life in 1998.
Down-to-earth, funny and warm, Carol Smillie is our very own princess of primetime.
And get to know the other members of the team with our features on Handy Andy Kane, Meet Linda Barker and Meet Anna Ryder Richardson.
