Restored to Glory

Restored to Glory offers a new angle on the traditional home makeover show with transformations on a far grander scale than most other shows will even contemplate! Throughout this fascinating series, you'll see a panel of experts work their magic on listed buildings owned by members of the public, giving these more delicate properties a brand new lease of life.

Lead by architect Charlie Luxton, the expert Restored to Glory team includes the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings' scholar and conservation architect, Jo Hibbert, the founder of repair and conservation firm St Blaise Ltd, Ian Constantinides, English Heritage buildings inspector John Yates and home renovation expert Sally Bevan.

Their priorities are authenticity and accuracy - essential considerations as any building work that takes place will be closely scrutinised by the likes of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and the English Heritage.

The featured properties vary in budget and ambition, ranging from a £25,000 project involving a 19th-century Cornish cottage to the £500,000 restoration of Biddulph Old Hall in Staffordshire, which dates from the 16th Century.

As well as giving building and budgeting advice, each show also provides the historical background to each property - the building styles and designs that influenced the original build and how the property was used over the years through the examination of wills, deeds, maps and details of previous owners.
