I Do, Let's Eat

The pressure of a wedding day can be extremely nerve wracking. Who doesn't want everything to run as smoothly as possible? From the flowers being fresh to both families getting on, every minute detail is prepared to achieve perfection. And, the food is no exception.

The 'spread' can be one of the most talked about and analysed elements of the wedding. Get it right and everyone will be happily relaying the menu for weeks after, get it wrong, and well..., nobody wants their wedding day to be tarnished by limp sandwiches and soggy vol-au-vents!

I Do, Let's Eat is a smash hit Canadian series, new to UKTV Style that showcases nuptial cuisine. We get a fascinating peek behind the scenes at ten ceremonies and their extravagant banquets. Although focusing on food in all its splendour and colour, I Do, Let's Eat is also about the emotions, anxiety and excitement of the big day.

Each episode revolves around one couple's wedding, the chef that prepares the food and the demands and pressures faced by everyone involved. In the opener we meet Seema and Nav who will marry at a Sikh Temple with a full dinner reception to follow the next day.

Twenty eight-year-old Seema's parents came to Canada from Punjab in 1971 with nothing. Today they are able to give her the fantasy wedding she's always wanted. Seema wants to raise the bar with her £50,000 nuptials. She's planned fireworks, gorgeous decorations, a horse-drawn carriage and of course a fantastic feast. With so many extras, and so much at stake, this wedding could be a recipe for disaster!
