Faking It: Series 3 Highlights

A ballet dancer swaps his graceful lifestyle for that of a wrestler, while a hot-dog vendor turns top chef...

Sheep Shearer to Hairdresser
Gavin Freeborn is a 22-year-old country boy from County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. Having grown up working on his father's farm, Gavin has been studying at agricultural college in Shropshire. Among other things he's learnt how to look after sheep, including the fine art of sheep shearing.

In this episode of Faking It, Gavin puts down his sheep shears and picks up a one hundred and fifty pound pair of scissors to learn how to blag it as a high-class hairdresser. Under the tutelage of four times British hairdresser of the year, Trevor Sorbie, Gavin's got to learn his Hoxton fin from his wedge cut, and scrunch from his fanny cut. For his final test Gavin's got to be able to cut a 'modern shattered bob' in front of three top class hairdressers.

Hot Dog Vendor to Chef
Ed, a Geordie hot dog vendor, is transformed into a top haute cuisine chef. Ed's idea of fine dining is curry and a pint, but in four weeks he is going to have to convince a team of experts that he is a master of the culinary arts. He's going to have to learn the hard way, in the kitchens of some of Britain's finest and most demanding chefs. He'll not only have to learn the skills to create the food, but also the swagger and bluster of a temperamental top chef.

Ballet Dancer to Wrestler
Kasper Cornish is 26 and a principle male ballet dancer; he's been dancing since the age of 12 and has never done anything other than dance in his life. When he's not performing in ballets and musicals he teaches ballet to the students at London's Urdang Dance Academy.

Over the course of four weeks Kasper will trade this effete life for one of huge men in leotards and screaming crowds baying for his blood, Kasper will be transformed in to a wrestler. He'll go to live in Sittingbourne to train with the men from Hammerlock UK, Britain's leading wrestling organization, he'll live with TANK, be force-fed protein drinks to bulk him up, learn how to scream in pain, develop an evil stage persona and roll out of the way at the last minute before being flattened by a 23-stone man.

At the end of the month Kasper and three other wrestlers will each have to battle former world champion Gary Steele in front of a thousand screaming fans, while a panel of judges try to work out who's faking it.
