Faking It: Series 1 Highlights
A public school boy becomes a club doorman, a shop assistant is placed at the heart of London's high society, a classic cellist tries her hand at club DJing and a vicar hangs up his dog collar and steps into the world of second hand car dealing...
Alex the Animal
In this modern day version of My Fair Lady we take people from one background, give them training and a total make-over and then try to pass them off in completely new surroundings. Alex, the public school educated Oxford Undergraduate who has only been to London twice in his life, is trained to be a doorman at one of London's biggest nightclubs, The Hippodrome.
Will the owners be able to spot the impostor or will Alex carry it off?
Lady Lisa
Lisa Dickinson-Gray, a 25-year-old from Castleford, has worked in the local chemist for the last nine years since leaving school. But Lisa's life is about to be completely transformed. Faking It will uproot her from her close-knit family home in the north, and place her at the centre of London's high society.
But the real test comes when she is let loose at a party of London's young socialites. Does Lisa have what it takes to fake it?
Cellist Turns DJ
In today's youth culture, the DJ is God. Can a straight-laced, female, classical cellist 'large it' with superstar DJs and play a set in a top London club? Sian Evans, 22, who would rather listen to Rachmaninoff then rockin' beats, is taken to London for a month to live with Queen of hard house, DJ Anne Savage. Swapping her cello for a set of decks, Sian is taught to mix records, given a crash-course in clubbing, and has dance lessons as she attempts to transform herself from reserved musician into a hedonistic club chick.
Vicar Turns Second Hand Car Salesman
A country vicar swaps his Somerset parish for the mean streets of Southend, Essex to learn how to be a second hand car salesman. He'll shed the clerical garb and dog collar, buy a motor at auction, give it a paint job and hit the forecourt with his smooth salesman's patter in a quest to part the punters from their money. How will he cope with the moral dilemmas of selling used cars and finance deals, and can he really transform himself from a gentle man of the cloth to a hard-talking Essex car dealer in just four weeks?
