David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas, believed himself to be the final prophet. The FBI suspected him of hoarding weapons and abusing several children he fathered with his followers. He and 80 members of his cult died in a fire during an FBI assault on his compound in 1993.
