Sleepless In Seattle *Film*
Saturday 21st November, 9pm
During the 1990s Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan were king and queen of the romcom, and Sleepless In Seattle was the jewel in their crown.
Hanks plays Sam, a recent widower who is ready to move on with his life. His son, Jonah, manages to get his father on a national radio station to broadcast his wish to find a new partner, and one of the women who hears the appeal is Annie (Ryan).
Annie is already engaged but secretly unhappy. When she hears Sam’s broadcast something clicks, and she decides to find out whether this mystery man is the real love of her life. So she travels to Seattle to meet Sam and Jonah, where things start to get really complicated.
The path of true love is never smooth and the final scene at the top of New York’s Empire State Building is true romance. (1993)
Sam: “I am NOT going to New York to meet some woman who could be a crazy, sick lunatic! Didn't you see Fatal Attraction?”
Dave
Argumental *UK Premiere*
Tuesday 24th November, 10pm
Brand new and exclusive to Dave is the first of two compilations from series two of Argumental. All the very best bits from the series have been chopped up and crammed together to form an even funnier show. Do you remember the time Rufus stripped naked? Or when Andrew Maxwell threw his chair off the stage? Or the time Marcus kissed John Sergeant. Perhaps I made that one up, but you get the gist. Super funny confrontational comedy as its very best.
Eden
*Tiger Week*
Monday 23rd to Friday 27th November, 5pm
This month Eden goes into the wild to spend some quality time with those graceful and endangered big cats, the tigers.
Throughout one week, Eden examines these magnificent animals at close quarters, as well as reveal how human hunting and climate change are having a devastating effect on the already-dwindling species.
In Tiger – Spy In The Jungle, Sir David Attenborough narrates as elephants carrying spy cameras tell the story of four tiger cubs growing up in the Indian jungle. Over two years the cameras track their development from young cubs into adult hunters.
Elsewhere, Tiger Kill sees Simon King realise a lifelong ambition – despite filming Africa’s big cats for 20 years, he has never seen a wild tiger. With so few left documenting a tiger making a kill is becoming harder as the years go by. Alongside tiger expert Alphonse Roy, who has spent 17 years in the Indian jungle, Simon embarks on his most personal and challenging wildlife journey yet.
Finally, Tiger – Wildlife Special, again narrated by Sir David Attenborough, sees the tiger’s private world brought vividly into viewers’ homes. Heart-stoppingly impressive and the embodiment of grace, power and danger, Tiger – Wildlife Special follows these big cats from sunrise to sunset in what could be one of the last complete portraits of these animals in the wild as there’s a real chance that they could be extinct within the next decade.
Full Circle With Michael Palin

Famed for blazing a trail from pole to pole, one of the nation’s favourite comic actors takes a different route around the globe, this time undertaking a huge, 50,000-mile trek around the Pacific Rim.
On the first stage of his journey, Michael travels through the notorious Kolyma region of Russia via the hot springs of Kamchatka, and then makes a guest appearance with the Russian Pacific Fleet Song and Dance Ensemble to sing one of Stalin’s favourite anthems.
Michael then visits Japan and Korea, where he meets a dedicated Monty Python fan, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Borneo, Java, Australia and New Zealand, before travelling to South America and the USA.

Blackpool Medics *Channel Premiere*
Weekdays, 8.30pm (from Wednesday 25th November)
What do you think of when you think of Blackpool? The Tower, Kiss Me Quick hats and Blackpool Rock all immediately spring to mind, but the Lancashire seaside hotspot is also known for days out in the sun, where the brilliantly tacky nature is all part of the fun.
Like most busy towns in the UK, there is also a dark side to Blackpool. Where there’s fun, frivolity and holiday shenanigans, there are often people who over indulge.
Blackpool Medics follows the doctors, nurses and paramedics of Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Northwest Ambulance Service as they work around the clock to not only help clear the streets and treat the revellers, but also care for locals.
Cases include a non-smoker admitted with lung cancer, a woman who faces a life-threatening condition that forces her to loose blood to stay alive, a man with a sexual problem who comes into the hospital seeking help, and a woman who fears she might not live to see her daughter get married after a tumour is discovered under her chin.
No wonder the Victoria is one of the busiest hospitals in Britain.

DIY SOS *Channel Premiere*
Saturdays at 6pm (from Saturday 21st November)
Nick Knowles and his ensemble of builders and designers return to Home for series 18 of the stalwart renovation series, which sees more extreme home disaster situations for Nick and co to get stuck into.

With a few savings he has been forced to use his own DIY skills, only to discover he doesn’t have any. Designer Julia Kendall and gaffer Chris Frediani are on hand to right some of David’s DIY wrongs.
Other DIY adventures include the team helping Emma, who bought a wreck of a property hoping her dad could help do it up. Unfortunately, a motorcycle accident meant that Emma’s dad couldn’t help… and the house is still a mess.
Elsewhere, Nick and the team travel to Wales, where Gary and Andrea need help with a cottage they bought seven years ago, and a renovation gone wrong means that Julia must redesign a whole house in Halstead.

Bank Of Mum And Dad
Weekdays, 8pm (from Tuesday 24th November)
It’s one thing to borrow the odd £20 from your parents but quite another to turn over full financial responsibility to them. This series brings big spenders back to earth with a bump by forcing them to ditch the champagne lifestyle they simply can’t afford.
In the first episode of series two, fashionable Geordie lass and footie fanatic Linsey can’t help buying clothes, make-up and accessories and has landed herself in £33k of debt. Linsey’s mum Jan steps up to save her from financial ruin but there are tears before bedtime when Jan reveals she’s selling Linsey’s prized convertible car. Does she not realise it’ll be better in the long run?
Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew *UK Premiere* *Final Episode*
Thursday 26th November, 9pm
The celebrities have been in rehab for 21 days straight. It’s been a hard slog of therapy, clashing egos and cold turkey from drugs and alcohol addiction. Dr Drew Pinsky deals with the aftermath of Jeff Conaway’s attack on girlfriend Vikki before the rehab graduation ceremony. Will the celebrities stay clean and sober or fall back into their old hard-living ways?
Good Food
Take On The Takeaway *Channel Premiere* *Carluccio Season*
Thursday 26th November, 8.30pm
Continuing Good Food’s Antonio Carluccio season, Take On The Takeaway (new to the channel) showcases the great Italian chef and broadcaster as he takes on a local takeaway shop in a bid to convince junk food junkies to ditch the deliveries and make their own versions of classic takeaway meals.
In each episode a celebrity chef goes to the home of a kebab or pizza lover addict to cook their favourite takeaway dish, aiming to beat the takeaway on time, cost and taste.
In Antonio’s case, he goes head to head with a Ida Crolla and her family-rub eatery in Edinburgh to encourage busy flatmates Scott and Dave to cook their own pasta for once.
Antonio cooks their favourite pasta Amatriciana and bruschetta with mozzarella before the pair decide which they like best in a blind tasting contest – Antonio’s homemade treats or the fast food version.
