Jackie - Web Producer

It's first thing Monday morning, so Assistant Producer Leigh and I settle ourselves and our lattés into UKTV's "comfy area" sofas to plan our week.
After we finish, I spend some time editing and checking our site stats. We've got two gorgeous new galleries of interiors products in from one of our freelance writers, plus a feature on how to use wall stickers. Leigh's on the phone for most of the morning blagging, er, negotiating new competition prizes for the site - our users just can't get enough of them, so we always do our best to find top-notch prizes. It's a good morning - she's managed to get us some shopping vouchers and a barbecue - result!
I heat up soup for lunch in the Downtime (canteen) microwave. I look like a bit of a saddo but I don't care as I have made a credit crunch New Year's resolution to boycott the Pret on the corner for a year.
After lunch I've got a production meeting with Twofour who are making the second series of Ty's Great British Adventure for Home. Presenter Ty Pennington (from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) is also going to shoot some behind-the-scenes web videos and a video interview for the site... I'm quite beside myself that we're going to meet him in person.
Leigh quickly finishes off writing and proofing week's newsletter and we head to our New Media department meeting. It's our monthly opportunity to catch up with the wider New Media team (we sit within the channel team), and share new site developments and learning with each other.
Afterwards there's just time to send off my Learning Curve application to HR - I'm applying for UKTV to sponsor my next ten Spanish lessons - before heading home.
