Tarrant brings the ratings in for Watch

Monday 5th October – UKTV’s latest talent-led commission, Tarrant Lets the Kids Loose, has smashed ratings records for an original commission by more than doubling slot average on new entertainment channel Watch yesterday.

Initial overnights show that the new hidden camera show fronted by Chris Tarrant peaked at 366,000 individuals during its premiere play at 6pm on Sunday 4th October, beating slot average over its duration by 123% since launch amongst all individuals. The one hour studio-based entertainment show, which sets fun challenges for three to six year old children, attracted an average of 267,000 individuals, 33% of which were children – up 335% on slot. In total, the show achieved a total reach of 456,000 individuals.

Still less than a year old, Watch was the third most watched pay TV channel for volume between 6pm and 7pm yesterday - up ten places from its usual 13th position – to rate just behind Sky One and Sky Sports 1, while beating terrestrial channel BBC2.

UKTV’s Director of Entertainment, Christian Drobnyk, says “We are absolutely thrilled with these initial overnights. Securing both Chris Tarrant and this hugely entertaining format was a massive coup for both Watch and UKTV.”
