Simon Brown - Director of Research and Insight

Simon is responsible for leading UKTV’s Research and Insight, and Market Strategy teams, to ensure the delivery of robust, objective, insightful research that helps shape growth across the UKTV business.

Reporting to Julia Jordan, Executive Director, Business & Operations, he also works closely with other members of the UKTV Executive Leadership Team and with the company’s key stakeholders, BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media TV.

His remit includes consumer understanding and measurement across TV, online and emerging linear and on-demand platforms, as well as developing deep consumer insights around television and online communities.

Simon joined UKTV in August 2007 from Discovery Networks Europe, where, as VP Research and part of the senior management team, he was responsible for guiding strategic development of the core business across the UK and EMEA territories.

Before joining Discovery in 2006, Simon was VP Research and Planning at MTV Networks Europe, where he was responsible for tactical and strategic development of the business. Prior to his move into research, Simon, an Oxford graduate, built strong commercial foundations through an early career in advertising.
