Vanilla kitchen serves drinks and home-cooked food. They use locally sourced produce, much of it from within the village, thus supporting local businesses and products. Seasonal fruit and vegetables are the norm and all coffee is fairtrade. There are a wide range of vegetarian options, and every effort is made to accomodate food allergies - e.g. soya milk and rye bread are always available and some baking is gluten free. Alongside the great quality of the food served Vanilla Kitchen is also a great asset for the village community. It is extremely family friendly, with toddlers morning on Fridays and regular children's singing mornings in a separate room. Small portions of food are always available even when not indicated on the menu. The monthly Supper Club is extremely popular, and often fully booked months in advance. It fills a need in a village with no other restaurant. The atmosphere on such nights is buzzing, with a mix of local people and those from further afield. All in all, Vanilla Kitchen provides the best quality home-cooked food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. They go to great lengths to make every customer feel welcome and well catered for. Just how a village cafe should be.
