Capons have been established in Rochester High Street since around 1944 and have been providing wonderful quality meat to the people who live here and for those who visit. They specialise in sausages (my favourite being the Louisiana!) and have won many awards for these. They sell all sorts of meat - homemade burgers, bacon, steak, chicken, cooked meats, summer specials (homemade specialities e.g. beef wellington, chicken cordon bleu, lamb rossetta etc), and offer an option of ordering less easy to find meat. The butchers who work there are helpful and pleasant and are really passionate about their trade. I am proud to get my meat from such a shop and wish there were more around like it (I am rather blessed as my High Street also houses good bakeries and greengrocers, but no fish mongers, unfortunately!)
