The Ye Old Sun Inn also holds monthly cookery demonstrations to promote local producers and products. We were recommended Ye Old Sun Inn to try and being types who love quality, fresh and seasonal food we thought we would. What a joy of a place, the rabbit pie was tremendous, the fish amazing. Its so good we have been back many times now and struggle to justify going anywhere else. What can I say, its that good we celebrated our engagement there!! Go and enjoy, a food hero winner surely?

This is such a fantastic place. Honestly, you will love it. It is just down the road to us, and the temptation to go every night for the ice cream is sometimes quite a fight!!! It is amazing food, good looking staff too!! Great atmosphere, gorgeous setting and all the food is as local as possible. They are a fantastic team.

My wife took me for my birthday and it was wonderful. All freshly cooked food nothing frozen. Plenty to choose from from the menu and a specials board. Puddings to die for and someone who actually knows what they are talking about when you ask about the wine list

everything makes this place special, it was my birthday today and they even went to the trouble of making me a special pudding with chocolate writing and candles!! Go for it guys, you deserve to win!!!!!!!!!!!

Ye Olde Sun Inn is a gem. I live in Derbyshire so cannot call in as often as I would like. From light bites , to starters , to main courses and desserts all meals are full of flavour. Informal atmosphere, friendly staff. Service is excellent. Called in at lunch time today 1st August in a hurry. Super light bite steak on ciabatta served without delay. Jennifer Nicholas

The staff here are both knowledeable and ultra friendly. We were offered a pre-starter of creamed chicken that was absolutely delicious - made and sold in their deli which is attached. Our main courses of fish and duck were well cooked fresh tasting, and delicious. Bread baked on the premises arrives in plant pots.
