Every week I am greeted by the same very friendly and smiley butcher. His service is exceptional if you ask for advice on best cuts, what's in season, where it comes from he roll's off his tongue years of knowledge and his local sources. Until September 2006 I had never shopped outside of a large supermarket. Now once a week a walk to my local butchers will my recycled bag and buy for the week. I received top quality, tastey meat and a reasonable cost. Along with a delivery of organic vegetables my quality of life and food has never been better

Alan Taylor who is the butcher, is fantastic. Years ago we asked him to make a different sausage to his normal ones, pork & apricot, every week he asked us to taste them to see if they were the right taste, they are now his best selling sausages. We asked him to make foot long sausages for a family party, and he did, nothing is too much trouble for him, his service is fantastic, he showed my 4 year old son how to make sausages and tells him all about the different meats and answers all his questions, it it a real education going to the butchers! His service is second to none, nothing is too much trouble, whatever you require. He gives advice on how to cook our meat, he doesn't rip you off - my dad has been to numerous butchers over the years, and has eventually been ripped off, I have been a customer of Alans for over 6 years, and he is consistent, his meat is lean and succulent and always very tasty. So many people get their meat from supermarkets these days, I think supermarket meat is overpriced and not as good quality wise as getting it from a local butcher. This man really is a gem and deserves something for his wonderful customer service and his fantastic quality meat. review this place now
