If Jamie Oliver rates this as an excellent place to buy your meat, then who am I to argue? Friendly service, meat prepared to your requirements, and yes, very bad jokes.

The bacon taste makes you realise what utter rubbish the vast majority of us now accept as being good bacon. It takes you back to summers by the sea at Marazion and the taste of real food. The bacon has won many awards and I think would have won many more but Mr Perry has been too busy to enter himself. Friends who travel the country with a Wall of Death show have Cornwall on their route so they can stock up their freezer at Angus. Top quality and at economic prices.

Absolutely nothing you can fault about this butchers. The meat is first rate and the service fantastic. What makes this place special is the staff are so knowledgable about the meat and always make sure you get the cut to suit your requirements. I have eaten in places all over the country, and have never had steak as good as that sold by this butchers.

This is simply the best Butcher's shop that I have frequented in my adult life (I'm in my sixties now). The quality of the meat is excellent - always hung to perfection - and the staff will always prepare any cut that I request without a moments hesitation. I have yet to stump them with a meat request - Mutton? Certainly. Goat? No problem. Venison? How much do you want? Wild Goose? Next Saturday OK? Hare, pheasant, guinea fowl, partridge, wild duck - provided it's in season they'll get it for me. They make their own sausages and provided you'll order 20lb or more, they'll make up your own recipe sausages as well. Their Ham and bacon are outstanding and they have their own smoke house so not only do they smoke their own ham, bacon and hogs pudding, but they'll pop anything I request in the smoke house given a few days notice. I regularly have smoked leg of pork, whole chickens and - at Christmas time - smoked turkey. Oh, and the prices are reasonable too. Mind you, the jokes are bad...

When on holiday in this region we always visit the shop, meat is excellenty prepared and tastes scrumptious. Staff are very helpful, highly recommended.

A country based butcher who sells only the best meat at good prices. They cure and smoke their own bacon as well as making their own sausages and local delicacy Hogs Pudding. The bacon is like it used to be when you were a kid, no white residue in the pan with this bacon. Last year they won a Gold award in the nationwide food oscars for both their back and streaky bacon. They also make their own gluten free sausages and burgers for those with sensitivity. A mail order service is available via their website www.angustrotters.co.uk They are members of Taste of the West and supply many local restaurants with meat products including probably the two most well known in Cornwall. Their general butchey meat quality is superb, all meat is hung for a period that ensures it is tender, succulent and very good to eat. As far as service goes, shall we say its service with a joke especially when you become known in the shop. If you expect to escape without being the butt of atleast one joke forget it. The shop can be a little difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with the area, coming from the A30 leave at the scorrier exit follow the signs to Treleigh and after the Treleigh Arms take a right and then another right and its on your left as you crest the hill review this place now
