This is quite a unique butchers shop a real family concern three sisters and a brother plus mother and father all serving the public very very well! their local meats taste better than i have ever had anywhere, the shop is full of different ways to eat meat and their ideas are brilliant, stuffed loin lamb is my favourite. Rutlands Gluten Free range is excellent with beef burgers, chicken burgers and traditional, pork & apple and lincolnshire sausages these are lovely for my son who has a wheat intolerence, well done Rutlands keep up the good work! you deserve to win.

This place is unique, a real family butchers, the staff really know their stuff!! All meats are from local farms and are free range and you can tell! Their Norfolk Haggis rival any bought in Scotland. One of my particular favourites are their homemade pork and spicy mango sausages. People travel from outside Norfolk to stock up on their Beef which is hung for at least 5 weeks and you can really taste the difference! I am one of those people ! Try them yourselves you wont be dissapointed, the friendly staff also are a tonic, Well done Rutlands in winning Eastern Daily Press Food Awards for 2006 and good luck with Food Heroes!

I live around 40 miles from Rutlands Butchers, and I try to get there as often as I can - but not as often as I would like! It's a fabulous butchers. There is always a great welcome from the staff - which is the (in the main)the Rutland family. I think the third generation is now helping out! They have a fantastic selection of locally reared meat, including venison. In addition to the standard cuts, they sell prepared meat such as duck and chicken parcels, homemade chicken kievs, fabulous sausages, home cured meats, pates, salt beef, haggis.... the list goes on. For those who want to take stuff home to eat at a later date there is a good selection of things ready frozen. The shop is always busy, even though it is located in a small Norfolk village. But whether you are a weekly regular, or a face that may appear now and again, the welcome is the same. Would I travel this far if it wasn't worth the effort?

Well what can i say... it has the 'wow factor'. It's a joy to visit this shop from the moment you enter, you are greeted with wonderful displays, friendly and knowledgeable staff, the meat is always of the best quality served with highest standards of hygiene. It's a real Aladdin's cave, serving both traditional and adventurous meats.
