Description
It all began with Iain Mellis' passion for good cheese: in 1993 Iain and wife Karen started their first cheese shop. The Mellises now oversee four locations - three in Edinburgh, one in Glasgow). Iain purveys his cheeses himself, visiting farms to taste the products. As it is hard to obtain an entirely local stock (Scottish farms are generally very small and produce a very limited amount), Iain supplies his selection with British, Irish, French, Italian and Spanish cheeses. Despite the variety, he makes sure all are handmade and pasteurised.

The best cheeses - beautifully kept and finished. Not to mention the bread, salami and olives!

Fantastic selection of cheeses, regional and international. Great chutneys, oils, relishes and fresh bread. Staff are very friendly too.

I never fail to be surprised by the variety and quality of the artisan cheeses on offer. Always my first choice for top quality cheeses.
