Kai Organic used to be a cafe which was certified by the Soil Association which has developed into a organic cake company. The food they sold was locally produced whenever possible, always fairtrade oh and absolutely delicious. The owners Carol and Simon went to extraordinary lengths to ensure happiness of customers, staff and even the environment (what with all the recycling, composting etc). I could go on forever listing the details that made this place special for example the chocolate used in recipes was Montezumas and so on and so forth. As a former member of staff I can further testify how brilliant they were as bosses and the kind of loyalty they built up, a year after the cafe closed (so they could focus on the cakes) I still run into old regulars who talk about how much they miss the place especially the food. However they have now expanded the range of cakes they produce so I am actually quite happy I don't work for them anymore because I would be seriously fat. Their cakes are so unbelievably yummy that its dangerous. I normally hate any cake that isn't chocolate but I adore every Kai cake I have ever tried. I could not even begin to pick a favourite. And they cater for all the different needs, wheat free, vegan etc etc. All amazing. And still being produced by the earth friendly means as before with the same attention to detail of sourcing the perfect individual ingredients. Carol and Simon are truly dedicated to good organic food, really passionate, I was lucky enough to work for them for a year so could see first hand how excited they review this place now
