Description
Opposite The Crescent in the town centre this tiny modern café, with outside seating, offers bistro-style food prepared from locally sourced ingredients. Open from 7.30am-5.30pm throughout the year except 10 days at Christmas for anything from black pudding with Staffordshire oatcakes to lamb curry, Spanish tortilla, frittatas and salads.

This cafe has dramatically changed the way people see food in Buxton. It's a special, intimate place ran by a special person who knows about food and what her customers want. Hannah sources her ingredients locally, from the fresh fruit and vegetables to the meat and dairy produce. Her menu is an ever changing culinary delight. Vegetarians are extremely well catered for with imaginative dishes and the carnivore in you couldn't resist the homemade lamb and feta burgers or the great big Buxton breakfast with homemade traditional outcakes. If it's just coffee and cake you're after then good luck trying to decide what cake to have, the choice is just too difficult! Carnival day and other special events will see a barbeque outside the cafe serving up a fantastic selection of meat and fish to the masses. You could be in Notting Hill or an exotic far off land it's that good. This cafe is the place to be, the place to meet up, eat and drink or just the place to relax and unwind listening to the great music or reading the daily papers that are provided. A well deserved regional winner last year, lets see it being a national winner this year, Hannah and her team well and truly deserve it! (Oh I forgot something important, the girls who work there are all gorgeous babes which makes a happy hour eating lunch even more pleasant!)

We found this place while climbing in the Peak District. The oat cakes are almost as good as my own Mum makes. I am a born again carnivore their bacon and sausage breakfast sandwich was so good. The interior was lovely with a few unique touches like the wrought iron coathooks. I will recommend this cafe to all of my climbing friends and family.

A lovely cafe providing excellent quality local food in a really friendly atmosphere. Buxton was sadly lacking in somewhere for coffee or a long lunch and the cafe has filled the gap - beautifully.

Lovely food, lovely people and I've never heard a ping. I like the open kitchen at the back too, so there's always bit of theatre and a buzz to the place as well. Did I say the food was great!

Quality food, very good presentation and staff who care about what they are selling. Good use of local produce to make both traditional and cosmopolitan food. Great music as well!
