Very sadly, the Lighthouse Bakery has now closed for business - the wonderful owners have decided to start a bakery school in the country. But the good news is that a new artisan baker will be taking over the shop in September.

A wonderful place to shop at. Delicious fresh bread and the best croissants I have EVER tasted! Always service with a smile. I feel very lucky to live up the road from this fantastic place!

One of the gems of Northcote Road. A bakery that makes real bread. Once you've been here, you will know what bread is, as apart to the stuff that is often sold in its name. A really delightful and must-keep place!

Thank God someone knows how to make REAL bread!! Have been buying bread here since it opened 6 years ago and any other bread just wont do. Fantastic selection of breads. Very friendly and joyful staff. Joe

A blessing to Battersea in every way. The charm of the neighbourly queue on Saturday morning is second only to the wonderful array of the superb quality bread and bakery and the helpful friendliness of the staff. Other neighbourhoods have reason to be jealous.

Saturday mornings are the highlight of my week- bakery day! We always arrive bright and early as the bread flies off the shelves- and once you've tasted it you'll understand why. The pastries, too, are divine- the best chocolate brownies I've ever tasted- and the locally-made pies make a delicious lunch. The only bad thing about living so close to the Lighthouse is the amazing smell everytime you pass it. It's enough to convert anyone.

This is one of the most delicious venues for bread in all the world and I always stop by when in London. Everything I have ever tasted has been divine and the staff is truly lovely and committed to their passion of making great breads! They deserve the chance to update their equipment and really produce. They have been a huge addition to a thriving foodie area and educated their neighbors to the delights of good and healthy bread! Great variety of British, French, Italian, and traditional American breads. But the traditional American pastries are killers: chocolate walnut oatmeal cookies that put all others choco-chip cookies to shame (and I have covered most of the lower 48 looking for them). Katherine Hepburn's brownies; especially the corner pieces. And try the Rugelach, which is made with finest British ingredients and a magic sprinkle of Buhbeh's love, you naughty boy, you.

There is always a queue around the corner and you only have to taste the bread to understand why. There is a huge variety ranging from breads to shortbreads to pies and pasties.
