Hi Lisamarie,

We'd suggest contacting a good local joiner who should be able to come up with a creative solution that makes the most of the space in the room.

Good luck!

Hi there,

Was this the wallpaper you were talking about? [link]

If so it's the Erin wallpaper in Gold/Charcoal from Laura Ashley.

Hope that helps!

Hi there,

How about hanging it from these ([link] or these ([link] from IKEA. You won't get the draped effect, but they should help keep nosey neighbours out a treat!

Since 2005, regulations have been in place to make sure that only qualified electrical contractors taken on certain jobs. However, some smaller jobs are still allowed.

Work you can do yourself:
- Replacing existing accessories such as lights, sockets outlets, ceiling roses, switches, fused spurs etc
- Adding lighting points to an existing circuit in other locations like dining rooms, lounges or bedrooms
- Disconnecting and reconnecting existing equipment

Work you cannot do yourself:
- Complete new or rewiring job
- Fuse box change
- Adding lighting points to an existing circuit in a "special location" like the kitchen, bathroom or garden
- Installing electrical earth connections to pipework and metalwork
- Adding a new circuit

If in doubt, do contact your local council or building control section who will be able to advise you further.

Hi there,

There is a company that sells a product to change the colour of existing grout - we've not tried the product before though so if you go ahead with it, let us know how you get on:
[link]

The other alternative is to rake out the offending grout and regrout in a darker shade - a horrible job!

All the best,

Hi there,

Here's a note from our lovely scheduler...

"I would recommend you keep a close watch on the 10.00pm / 10.30pm slot we've tagged as our 'Garden History' zone. That begins from today and we're showing programmes like 'English Country Garden' then replaying Victorian Kitchen Garden and then come February 6th we'll be showing Wartime Kitchen & Garden!"

So keep watching!

Hi Yves,

This show is an ITV commission so unfortunately we don't have that sort of information on it. Try emailing the ITV website - they may be able to help.

Hi Marks 517,

It's entirely up to you whether or not you remove the rail, though it can be used to create interest on bare walls if you use them as dividers, perhaps painting above and below in different but co-ordinating colours or papering either above or below the rail.

Good luck with your decorating!

Hi Selhurst,

After you've done a load of washing, make sure you leave the door open so that the drum and seal can dry out completely before you close the door - you won't get mould where there isn't water!

Hi MrsBee,

UKTV did not run a T-shirt competition in conjunction with The Clothes Show TV programme in 2006 but perhaps the competition was run by Haymarket, the company that co-ordinates the Clothes Show Live event. Visit this [link] for their contact details.

American Apparel is a good place to try - they do a fantastic range of basic, unbranded designs in high quality cotton. You can order online from their website at this [link]
Good luck! Wink

Hi LittleL1,

As far as we are aware, since the closure of the Design a Print competition, we have only broadcast re-edited versions of the show that pointed out that the competition had closed.

The winner of the competition has been selected and contacted and will be announced/appearing both at the Clothes Show Live event in December and on the autumn/winter 07 series of The Clothes Show.

Hi Vickyblue,

Stripping the paint from your fireplace will be time-consuming but is definitely worth the effort. Use a poultice stripper like Peelaway (you can get buy this on the Decorating Direct website) and you might need to follow this up with some scrubbing with a liquid stripper. Once all the paint is gone, use a graphite grate polish to put the colour and shine back. We stripped two fireplaces in our house this way - it was a horrible, messy job but they look amazing now!

Hi there,

We're not sure where the exact ones in the picture were from, but Habitat stocks a similar design as a lampshade - designed by Tord Boontje, it's called the Garland lamp and is basically acid-etched cut-out metal that's wrapped around a bare bulb. Sounds weird - looks gorgeous!
