Rickie from The Farm Of Fussy Eaters
"The only hot food I eat is cheese on toast. When we were away on a family holiday I couldn't buy vintage cheddar or sliced bread. As the days went by I was beginning to starve."
Rickie, 22 exists purely on a diet of stodge. All he eats is peanut butter and cheese sandwiches, cheese on toast, crisps and occasionally chips. He's never eaten meat or vegetables, and the most daring his palate gets is the occasional bit of Marmite.
Rickie's mum Vickie is now at breaking point. She's struggled with her son's diet for the past twenty years but despite her constant effort Rickie refuses to eat anything else besides sandwiches. He's extremely fussy about the ingredients used to make his sandwiches and insists on thick white bread, vintage cheddar and smooth peanut butter. Things recently reached a head on a family holiday to Bulgaria when Rickie was unable to source these specific items and his grandparents had to fly out bringing emergency provisions!
Over the years Rickie has been to see food experts, counsellors and undergone hypnotherapy but nothing has helped him improve his diet. He says "I have spent a fortune in my young life on hypnotherapy and on food counselling but all to no avail. I feel desperate and any help would be much appreciated."
In coming to The Farm of Fussy Eaters Rickie hopes to overcome his sandwich addiction and eat a more substantial and healthy diet. His ultimate dream is to sit down to a proper family meal with meat and veg. Can our experts help Rickie's dream become a reality?
