Spa Of Embarrassing Illnesses 2
Welcome to the eagerly anticipated second series of Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses where we find out if detoxing can help a group of people who suffer from society's most embarrassing and intimate body "illnesses", from hyperhydrosis to menorrhagia.
The Spa Of Embarrassing Illnesses is a haven where socially stigmatised people, those who suffer from society's most embarrassing and intimate body "illnesses" come to get help. Don't miss the second series of this fascinating show, weekdays from Monday 8th December exclusively on UKTV Style.
Run by leading British nutritionist Amanda Hamilton, the Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses aims to detoxify, rejuvenate and deal with the root cause of these afflictions, rather than simply mask them with quick and easy remedies. The ten-part series follows the emotional journeys of eight people who suffer from an embarrassing illness.
We meet beautiful Mujde, an outgoing 22-year-old whose happy-go-lucky exterior masks the huge unhappiness caused by vaginismus. Then there's super-fit Alex, a 26-year-old who lives with a dark secret - he suffers from hyperhydrosis and goes to great lengths to hide the uncontrollable sweating on his face and torso. Kathy's life is marred by menorrhagia, or excessive menstrual bleeding, which has made her life a living hell for the past seven years.
Amanda and her team of specialists from homoeopathists to a yoga guru, create treatment programmes tailored to each patient's needs. Their treatment combines nutrition therapy, detox, mediation, counselling, yoga and massage, in the spa's tranquil setting in the mountains of Turkey. But can these alternative therapies really help to turn the patient's lives around?
