The only surviving of the five manor houses of Dagenham.
Valle Crucis Abbey
Extensive remains of Cistercian abbey founded in 1201. The church dates from the thirteenth century, and the east range of the cloister was remodelled around 1400. There is a fine collection of medieval memorial sculptures.
Verdant Works
A 19th-century working Jute mill in the heart of Dundee. Named Verdant after the lush green fields around the industrial area of Dundee, the Hill Mill at Verdant Works was built in 1833. At its peak, Verdant Works employed more than 500 people to prepare, spin and weave jute.
