Why has the Sunday 5pm repeat of Dancing With The Stars been ditched just as the show reaches its climax?!? I have been following the Sunday showing all the way through and it shows very little respect for your viewers to ditch the regular slot without warning and replace it with a years old movie thats been on many times before. Is there a space in the schedule somewhere later in the week for us to catch up? FURIOUS!!!

I am SO with the previous comment; we missed the Friday showing of DwtS due to a family commitment and didn't worry about setting the video as we were aware of the Sunday early evening repeat show (my daughter likes to watch the show twice)...we even checked the listings magazine to confirm that the show was on...only to discover TODAY that Tootsie is being screened instead - what utter disregard for your viewers! As a family, once this series of DwtS is complete, we will be boycotting all UKTV shows and I know that my kids will ask their friends to do the same. Ultimately it is this kind of corporate complacency combined with a total lack of respect for your viewers that will herald the demise of companies like UKTV.

Why on earth dump the show at this point, and for a film that has been repeated countless times on other channels?

well - thanks for that David R...but its a bit blooming late to tell us now! if we had known BEFORE Sunday then fine...but the listings mags all had DwtS on at 5pm on Sunday and it was only on the day that we found out that Tootsie was replacing the programme we wanted to watch, so while your apology is all very well, it solves nothing and I remain insulted by your lack of consideration

Well quite. Thanks for the apology David, but I'm sure there wasn't any announcement that it wouldn't be repeated on a Sunday. The episode that we've missed was a particularly special one, celebrating the 100th show. Is there absolutely no chance of putting this on at some point in the future - perhaps at the end of the current series? I realise you've not exactly been drowned in complaints but I'm sure other viewers will have been put out by the sudden and announced dropping of the Sunday repeat.

And for Tootsie...I mean...Ghostbusters I could have understood.

actually - seeing as there appear to be only three of us who have bothered to complain about this issue, why not just send us all a dvd of the episode we missed...that would solve the problem for us viewers, cost you next to nothing and be smart PR

I am not at all happy!!
I missed the final of dancing with the stars last night and thought never mind I will catch it on Sunday.
Well I have just got ready to record it tomorrow and discover it is not on, so I jumped onto the internet with the hope of some answers and found this page. I can't beleve they stopped the sunday show, and I didn't even know about the one this morning otherwise I would have recorded it.
I am now going to have to watch it on you tube or something.
I am devistated this has happened as have watched every one up to the final and sometimes twice.
I am xxxxed at myself for not recording it on Fri and I am xxxxed at Gold for dropping the Sunday repeat.

Due to stupid virgin tv being down last nite in my area i was unable to see the final of dancing with the stars and too thought that would be able to watch the repeat on sunday as have previously watched it on sundays. I have just been to check when its on tomorrow to find that it isn't. I think that it should definately be repeated as it was due to the stupid cable company that could not watch it last nite. Or we should be able to receive videos of the program as we are not able to access the program on abc due to us being in the uk. Virgin shall be receiving a very angry call from my mum tomorrow!!

Im still upset about it

I was looking forward to the Dancing with the Stars Final on Friday evening but unfortunately Virgin TV wasn't working in our area. I wasn't too concerned as I thought I would be able to watch the final on Sunday afternoon. In the past I have watched the programme on a Friday evening and then again on Sunday. I am so disappointed to see that Dancing with the Stars isn't on this afternoon. Why would you suddenly stop running this on a Sunday afternoon, especially so late in the series? I was hoping that maybe I could watch it on Virgin on demand, but again no luck. Can UK TV Gold please please please show it again for huge fans of the programme who missed it through no fault of their own???????

Due to a 24-hour power cut in our area (including a further 4 areas of the Thames Valley), we sadly missed the Dancing With The Stars final and it's results show. With the electricity still being off Saturday morning, we were unable to watch the repeat. I was much looking forward to watching it on the Sunday afternoon but that is now impossible. How UKTV Gold can ditch the final repeat in favour of shows that are repeated daily and a film previously shown the night before is beyond belief. Please can UKTV Gold screen the final 2 shows again during this week?

to all those who missed the final - UK TV Gold also managed to screw up at least in part (again!). I also had no Virgin TV on Friday night and set the video to tape the repeat show on Saturday morning usng THIS website as a guide to the times of the show (1015 - 1225)...but even using this method we only got part of the final...the first section with all three couples dancing was over by the time the 1015 scheduled episode started and so we got the 'gala' section and the final two dances. If UK networks are going to buy US TV 'reality' series, would they PLEASE ensure that a) they can schedule all the episodes in their entirity...and b) that the US network they are buying the series from is going to give them all the 'competitive' episodes and not just the back-slapping!

It should come as no surprise to network executives that if a series of programmes is a competition, viewers want to see all the episodes in which the participants compete...and UKTV Gold are not the only guilty network...ITV2 have been showing American Idol and also only showed the 'gala' episodes on two occasions: the Idol Gives Back telethon - tedious; and the results show of the final but NOT the competitive sing off between the two finalists...how ridicultous is THAT!

When viewers watch shows like Dancing with the Stars, they invest in the participants and want to see the entire series, not what is cherry-picked by American salesmen nor merely what is convenient for the schedulers.

How can I be sure that I know what I am talking about? Well - I have a First Class Honours degree in Visual Culture (2001) and a Masters in Social and Cultural Theory and work as a social researcher. Can your schedulers say the same?
